How faith is flourishing

Whenever we see someone’s faith flourishing, we thank and praise God! As Paul writes, “Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.” (2 Thes 1:3 NLT). Faith is dynamic and our love for Jesus can keep growing deeper and deeper, or as the hymn writer says “sweeter and sweeter as the years go by.”

We are so blessed by what we learn from others about growing faith – the scholars we read, pastors we hear, and missionaries we meet. But do you realize that this also includes you?

We love to hear the ways that your faith is flourishing! Over our years of ministry in the US, Indonesia and Australia, we have been incredibly blessed to have some of the most helpful, giving, and authentic people in our lives!

You are the people who inspire us, support us and encourage us as we walk together in faith. In fact, we agree with the Psalmist, who writes, “The godly people in the land are my true heroes! I take pleasure in them!” (Psalm 16:3 NLT) Yes! You are our heroes!

Now that we’ve got you on side (haha), we’d love to hear from you about ways you are growing your faith.

The question we’d like you to answer is: “What have you found helpful for growing your faith this year?”

With your input, this could become a useful list of suggestions, stories, and even application points for sermons and talks to encourage others. Your answer can be a quick tip like, “praying with my spouse every day” or “trying to follow Matthew 25 and see Jesus in everyone I meet”. Or if you have a longer testimony or story, please feel free to share it. We’d love to hear from you. Even just one thing, however small it might seem to you, could really encourage us and others.

In turn, we’re happy to help you. So please feel free to let us know how we can pray for you, or what questions about the Bible  we can have a go at helping you with, or if you are looking for book recommendations or suggestions, or something else you can think of! We’d love to show you how thankful we are for you.

We pray that your roots will grow down deeper and deeper into the nourishing soil of God’s marvellous love, and that your lives will continue to cling to Jesus.

Again, we’d love to hear your response to the question, “What have you found helpful for growing your faith this year”

Won’t it be encouraging to see what everyone comes up with! We can’t wait to read your responses!

Thanks so much in advance for participating! 🙂

  1. Hi Graham n Ellie, I’m replying to your request how our faith has grown this year. The most important thing i’ve learned is about words and declaring a thing and it will be established according to Job 22:28. In prayer talking to God I found I can declare the spirit in a situation change or the import of words said are renounced and the blood of Jesus be appropriated to bring God’s blessing. I also learned things said about a difficult situation not changing or belief it’s inevitable is a word that needs to be renounced and can declare just in prayer that things that are not be as though they are! Praise the Lord! The other good thing God gifts me with is learning guitar to worship and fellowshipping with it at church.

    1. Thanks for sharing Cheryl! I’ve always wanted to learn the guitar. May God bless you as you lead worship and pray according to His Word. Love and hugs
